OSGEMEOS born in 1974, São Paulo, Brazil; Their name translated from Portuguese is “the twins”. Gustavo and Otavio Pandolfo have collaborated together ever since they can remember. As children, they developed a distinct way of playing and communicating through artistic language. But when hip-hop culture was first introduced to Brazil in the eighties, Osgemeos began to express themselves through painting, sculptures and music, by combining the hip-hop and graffiti worlds with traditional and contemporary aspects of Brazilian culture. The duo created a vast body of work including murals, sculptures, videos, paintwork on doors, canvases, mirrors and canisters. They have a consistent visual language often inspired by their dreams that, as twins, they claim to share. In addition to the use of bright colours and elaborate patterns, they are best known for their paintings that feature long-limbed yellow-skinned figures with thin outlines, enlarged faces, and simplified features. The yellow skin colour signifies a universal character, rather than a direct reference to a specific race or culture, which reflects the highly diverse population of Brazil and the world. Osgemeos are icons of the street art world, they have held numerous solo and group shows in museums and galleries in globaly such as Cuba, Chile, USA, Italy, Japan, England, Germany, Lithuania and Spain. They are continually invited across the world to paint in festivals and for global organisations.
