OKUDA

Okuda-portrait-

Okuda was born in 1980 in Santander Spain. He is based in Madrid since 2000. Having graduating from the Complutense University in Madrid his works were displayed around the rail roads and abandoned factories of his hometown. His initial artworks developed into his distinct unique style which we see today. Alongside his work on the street, Okuda has also been working on more intimate works in his studio since 2009. His multicolored geometric structures and patterns are joined together by grey bodies and organic forms, they blend with organic shapes, bodies without identity, headless animals, symbols that encourage reflection. As a unique iconographic language, his artistic pieces could be described as as Pop Surrealism, though his work still holds a clear essence of street forms often raising contradictions about existentialism, the universe, the infinite, the meaning of life, the false freedom of capitalism, and portray a clear conflict between modernity and our roots; ultimately, between man and himself. His many works can be seen on the streets and in galleries across the globe.
